What about Apple and their website? It employs very good UI design and is very profitable. I don't have data on the direct corellation of their UI design to their profit, but as a world-class, global company, why would they invest in and implement a very good UI design if it's not important and would not help boost sales? Would their sales perform the SAME or even surpass their current performance if they had a website that has a generic and poorly designed UI? UI and UX go hand-in-hand together. It's always about the end user or target audience's characteristics to determine what type of design is going to be implemented. This is why Target Audience Research is important. If the end-user wants a website that is jaw-dropping then let him have it. If he just wants to get information quickly like looking up a word in a dictionary, then design and experience is not the most important thing on that website. The questions is, do you know what your audience wants? Did you do your research? I would say... learn from the best companies (Apple, Nike, Adidas, Google, etc.). Amazon's website is just one of them, it's not a representative from which to draw conclusions.

My design strategy is: 1. Start with a word document to establish the content and hierarchy of information 2. Add some relevant pictures to improve the message 3. Build the layout in figma or on paper 4. Translate the layout to mobile design 5. Write the html, css and javascript

Ha! These are the personal grievances of a talentless accountant, not a designer. Even his voice is stripped of any creativity. If the creators of the internet wanted consistent design across the entire web it would have been built as one big Wikipedia. Instead they gave people a blank canvas to create with.

If you look at the two colors in the first capital T in 'CONTRAST", the lighter color on the right makes a kind of lowercase 'r', so you can read it as a very clever way of misspelling CONTRAST without misspelling CONTRAST. Obviously, intentional.

i was designing websites in the late 90's and early 2000's. Back then web designs were a lot more interactive and creative then they are today. We used a lot of flash elements that has been discontinued since the release of the iPhone. We had absolute control of the look, functionality and UI of our designs. Now since most designers use web building services it seems all websites look the same by using the same cookie cutter style.

I think the exception to this (or rathere these 50) rule is for portfolio websites for web designers who actually want to exhibit their skillset and how they have the technical expertise to push boundaries their potential client would possibly want
